User talk:CafeAlayna
My account was blocked by Edgar181, for what reason I don't know. Trying to promote myself... howso? In the ONE article I have submitted so far, neither my own name nor my business name was used. So how does this come across as trying to promote myself or my business? I see no link to refute this claim, so I guess I can only write it here... -Forgive me for being a noob; you were a noob too at some point. Alayna (talk) 13:15, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- At User:CafeAlayna (now deleted) you were advertising a business called "Café Alayna", and since usernames are not permitted to match the name of a business, the username was blocked. Please feel to sign up with another username. -- Ed (Edgar181) 17:35, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
Edgar181 - in what way was I trying to promote the cafe named Café Alayna? Could you give me some specific examples? The only article I submitted does not mention a cafe by that name... Would appreciate some clarification...
- The promotional material was on your user page (which has now been deleted), not in the article . . . Mean as custard (talk) 08:06, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Mean as custard - Thanks for that clarification... I wasn't aware that the user page was considered the same as a Wikipedia page... I thought it was more of a profile about the user. I was prompted to write something there, so I wrote a few sentences and closed it. I didn't realize that was a public page, or that it was breaking the rules. I don't even remember what I wrote on there... but anyway, thanks for the clarification.
